Since 1998, Mr. Liberis has served as President of Liberis & Associates, P.A. He has focused his practice on complex business and real estate transactions, commercial litigation, securities arbitration, and corporate reorganization.
From 1967 to 1989, Mr. Liberis was a founding senior partner in the law firm of Liberis, Sauls, and Fleming, P.A. (and its predecessors), with offices in Pensacola, Tallahassee and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia. The firm focused on business litigation, securities, corporate, real estate, banking and corporate reorganization law.
In addition to the practice of law Mr. Liberis has had a varied business background.
From 1989 to 1992 he served as chairman of the board of two NASDAQ small-cap companies, Europa Cruises Corporation and Surebet Casinos, Inc. He was a founder of Orange State Life Insurance Co., Clearwater, Florida, of Southern National Bankshares, Atlanta, Georgia, and First Trust Savings Bank, Jacksonville, Florida, serving as general counsel and a director of each.
Mr. Liberis has also had extensive experience as a real estate developer. His development projects include commercial buildings, residential subdivisions, and midrise and highrise residential projects.
At present, Mr. Liberis serves as managing member of Hernando Oaks II, LLC, the developer of a 626-acre gated golf course community in Hernando County, Florida.
Mr. Liberis majored in business and finance at Stetson University, and received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 1967. He is a member of the American and Florida Bar Associations, the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association, and the International Association of Gaming Attorneys.
